  33 <P>This section describes the functions of each item on the menu bar
  34 in the GQview main window.</P>

  37 <P><U>File Menu</U></P>
  38 <P STYLE="margin-left: 0.79in"><B>New window</B>: Opens a new main
  39 window, with the initial path set to the current folder.</P>
  40 <P STYLE="margin-left: 0.79in; font-weight: medium"><B>New
  41 collection</B>: Opens a new collection window, the new collection
  42 will be empty.</P>
  43 <P STYLE="margin-left: 0.79in; font-weight: medium"><B>Open
  44 collection</B>: Displays a dialog to open a collection stored on
  45 disk, the selected collection will then appear in a new window.</P>
  46 <P STYLE="margin-left: 0.79in"><B>Open recent</B>: This menu item
  47 lists the recently active collections, selecting an item from the
  48 list will open that collection in a new window. The most recent item
  49 will appear at the top of the list.</P>
  50 <P STYLE="margin-left: 0.79in; font-weight: medium"><B>Search...</B>:
  51 Opens a new Search window.</P>
  52 <P STYLE="margin-left: 0.79in; font-weight: medium"><B>Find
  53 duplicates...</B>: Opens a new Find Duplicates window.</P>

  59 Opens a dialog to select a destination to copy the currently selected

  74 <P><U>Edit menu</U></P>

  76 This will execute the external command associated with &lt;command
  77 name&gt;, these can be changed edited on the <A HREF="10_5_editor_commands.html">Editors
  78 tab</A> of the Option dialog.</P>
  79 <P STYLE="margin-left: 0.79in"><B>Adjust</B> sub menu:</P>
  80 <P STYLE="margin-left: 1.58in"><B>Rotate clockwise</B>: Rotates the
  81 current image clockwise 90 degrees, does not effect the file on disk.</P>
  82 <P STYLE="margin-left: 1.58in"><B>Rotate counterclockwise</B>:
  83 Rotates the current image counterclockwise 90 degrees, does not
  84 effect the file on disk.</P>
  85 <P STYLE="margin-left: 1.58in"><B>Rotate 180</B>: Rotates the current
  86 image 180 degrees, does not effect the file on disk.</P>
  87 <P STYLE="margin-left: 1.58in"><B>Mirror</B>: Swaps the left and
  88 right sides of the image so that the result is similar to that of
  89 looking at the image in a mirror, does not effect the file on disk.</P>
  90 <P STYLE="margin-left: 1.58in"><B>Flip</B>: Swaps the top and bottom
  91 sides of the image, does not effect the file on disk.</P>
  92 <P STYLE="margin-left: 0.79in"><B>Properties</B>: Opens a Properties
  93 Window for the currently selected files.</P>
  94 <P STYLE="margin-left: 0.79in"><B>Select all</B>: Selects all files
  95 displayed in the file list.</P>
  96 <P STYLE="margin-left: 0.79in"><B>Select none</B>: Clears the current
  97 file selection.</P>
  98 <P STYLE="margin-left: 0.79in"><B>Preferences...</B>: Opens the
  99 <A HREF="10_options.html">Preferences Dialog</A> for changing of user
 100 preferences.</P>
 101 <P STYLE="margin-left: 0.79in"><B>Thumbnail maintenance</B>: Opens a
 102 dialog with utilities to manage cached thumbnails and keywords data.</P>
 103 <P STYLE="margin-left: 0.79in"><B>Set as wallpaper</B>: Renders the
 104 current image to the root window (desktop). The resulting image will
 105 be tiled to fit the root window if zoom is not set to <U>fit to
 106 window</U>; when zoom is set to <U>fit to window</U>, the image will
 107 be scaled to fill the root window.</P>
 108 <P><U>View menu</U></P>
 109 <P STYLE="margin-left: 0.79in"><B>Zoom in</B>: Increases the zoom by
 110 one increment, resulting in a larger image.</P>
 111 <P STYLE="margin-left: 0.79in"><B>Zoom out</B>: Decreases the zoom by
 112 one increment, resulting in a smaller image.</P>
 113 <P STYLE="margin-left: 0.79in"><B>Zoom 1:1</B>: Resets the zoom to
 114 the original size of the image.</P>
 115 <P STYLE="margin-left: 0.79in"><B>Zoom to fit</B>: Automatically
 116 adjusts the zoom so that the image will fit within the display pane.
 117 The effect on images with an original size smaller than the display
 118 pane can be changed with the <U>Allow enlargement of image for zoom
 119 to fit</U><SPAN STYLE="text-decoration: none"> option located on the
 120 <A HREF="10_2_image.html">Image tab</A> of the preferences dialog</SPAN>.</P>
 121 <P STYLE="margin-left: 0.79in"><B>Thumbnails</B>: Toggles the display
 122 of image thumbnails in the file list, this item is not available when
 123 the file list is in icon view mode. A check appears next to this item
 124 when thumbnails are enabled.</P>
 125 <P STYLE="margin-left: 0.79in"><B>List</B>: Changes the file list to
 126 display files in list format.</P>
 127 <P STYLE="margin-left: 0.79in"><B>Icons</B>: Changes the file list to

 135 location of the menu bar, tool bar, status bar, and file lists

 139 visibility of the menu bar, tool bar, status bar, and file lists.</P>

 142 the tool bar is not visible.</P>

 168 <P>Menus can be permanently displayed by selecting the dotted line
 169 item at the top of each menu category. A tear off menu will behave
 170 the same as an ordinary window. To close a tear off menu, select the
 171 dotted line item at the top of the menu.</P>

 197 quotes; in this case the text &ldquo;&lt;control&gt;q&rdquo;. For
 198 example changing the shortcut associated with Quit to the Q key will
